Level 6 Advanced Fitness Swimming
This class takes place at Westwood Recreation Center in Jackson
in an outdoor, unheated, 25 yard swimming pool with depth of water up to 12 feet. If you are unsure about enrolling in this class, please call Kelly at 731-431-0270.
This is the most advanced level of swimming that we offer and will culminate in an endurance/fitness swim of 20 lengths of the pool with mixed swim strokes of freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, elementary back stroke, side stroke, and butterfly that must have proper technique. Water safety and rescue techniques are emphasized as part of this class and an introduction to the fitness requirements for lifeguarding is also included. Participants who passed Level 5 with us are ready for this class, but prior to the first class are strongly encouraged to exercise, swim each of the strokes, and be fit and ready to participate.
