Carmichael Swim School was officially established in 1976 by Jimmy and Rita Carmichael and operated each summer season for 40 years in the back yard of their family home until the business moved to its current location on Tinker Hill Road in 2016.  However, the history of offering swim lessons in Jackson, TN started many years before 1976.  Jimmy Carmichael began teaching swim lessons in Jackson at age 14 when he was asked by a neighbor to help their child learn to swim.  An easy ride on the front handle bars of Jimmy's bicycle down to the local swimming pool and back began an annual routine of teaching swim lessons.   Jimmy hasn't missed a summer season of teaching swim lessons since, continues to instruct this season, and has also trained his daughters and son-in-law to continue the quality of instruction that he established.  The business has always been and continues to be family owned and operated.  We look forward to seeing you at Carmichael Swim School this season!
